Médiametrie//NetRatings and Fevad publish the audience rankings of the top twenty e-commerce sites, all sectors combined, on computers, mobile phones and tablets every quarter. This quarterly ranking makes it possible to monitor the evolution of the audience of the main French commercial sites in terms of number of visitors and as a percentage of the Internet user population over the period in question.
On average, 50 million Internet users, or 78% of French people, consulted at least one of the Top 20 sites and/or applications each month, i.e. 2 million more than in the first quarter of 2023. This increase can be explained in particular by the good performances recorded by travel sites, whose audience benefits from a particularly favorable context with the numerous bank holidays in May and the Olympic Games being held in Paris.
So, Booking.com and Airbnb achieved the strongest progress, gaining 7 places respectively to reach 3rd and 15th positions. Booking.com saw over 2.5 million more visitors compared to the same period last year, while Airbnb gained over 1 million. SNCF Connect is not to be outdone with 1.4 million more visitors compared to the first quarter of 2023.
Other highlights include the very good result ofIKEA. The brand recorded the strongest rise in the ranking with a jump of 8 places, which allowed it to re-enter the TOP 20 for the first time since the first quarter of 2020. For its part, Temu Win two places again. Arriving in France in the 2nd quarter of 2023, the Chinese site had established itself in 11th place in the ranking as early as the 3rd quarter of 2023. It now occupies the 5th position. It is visited by 2.2 million Internet users every day, 600,000 more than 6 months ago.
Finally, more and more Internet users are using their mobile phones to consult sites. Vinted, Shein and Lidl are the sites with the highest share of visits on mobile, with more than 86% of their global audience made on mobile.
At the top of the ranking, amazon remains unbeatable with 36.8 million unique monthly visitors, 10 million more than Leboncoin, which is in second position. Booking.com, in 3rd position, achieved a breakthrough by climbing seven places compared to the first quarter of 2023, at the expense of Fnac which fell to 10th place. Temu, which is experiencing exponential growth in France and internationally despite controversial practices, climbed two places and is now in 5th position.
